ARMADILLO!

This was something a little different, and what a great challenge! I was tasked with making a dry riverbed and mudbank habitat for Armadillos!

Theme park and zoo, Hof Van Eckberge in the Netherlands asked for this new habitat to be created and I’m really pleased with it!

Armadillos love to dig!

Armadillos make burrows in soft soil and mud, and can spend up to 16 hours a day in their shelters! They are solitary creatures, and do not cope well with the cold.

Interesting fact: Armadillos are the only mammal to have a hard outer shell!
