All About The Detail
When I’m creating wood with concrete, the magic is in the detail. I guess it’s what you see when you look at an actual piece of wood.
Has it aged?
What’s the colouration like?
The surface and patina?
Where are the knots and whorls?
Has it had knocks and bangs?
Have there been old nails or rusty screws in there?
Has it had woodworm or other marks?
These are all the signs of character from a piece of wood which bring it to life and give it a story. It would, after all, have cone from a tree which has seen a life of sorts, and those characteristic should show even in faux wood made from concrete.
